Voice Over

Voice-over Acting is all around us.
From television to radio, from corporate voice-mail
to talking toys, from computer games to corporate
videos. We need interesting and unique voices to
make our world diverse, upwardly
mobile, successful, and exciting. Our lives would
not be as rich without the wonderful voice talents
we hear everyday. I can help you find your natural,
conversational sound that is unique to you and that
no one else in the world can deliver, but you.
Straight voice-over is based on using
your natural voice. Listen to a documentary or a
national television commercial, and you’ll probably
hear a natural-style voice-over. |

Voice-over producers typically search
for voice-over artists who can use their natural
voices in front of the microphone. Some voice-overs
artists
sound contrived, trying to affect their voice to
sound like someone else. If a producer wanted a
voice type different than yours, they would hire
someone who naturally had that voice. Make sure that
any training classes you attend teach you to use
your natural voice.
I teach you to be free with your
emotions, and develop the skills for complete
control. I prepare you
for voice-over producers; Equipping you with the
tools you need to create and deliver the sound,
quality and performance they require. These tools
are what voice
talent needs, including pacing, volume, range, how
to create a character using your audience, lead
lines and back-story. |

Character Voices
Animation |
|
Character voice-over is anything that
isn’t straight. Finding your own new voices you
have never discovered within you is fun and
rewarding. In my sessions we work on different
placements and resonating areas to discover what
your unique voice can do. Once all you voices are
realized and polished and you have learned how to
read copy naturally and you’ve mastered the
techniques and industry lingo used in studios, we
start assembling your demo. |
