When a casting agent requires an
accent or dialect, they need someone who sounds
genuine. However, many people who claim to affect
their voices with accents and dialects have not
mastered the affectation. Often their
‘sounds’ and/or intonation (way of speaking) are not
accurate. Other times they’re not consistent (one
syllable sounds genuine while the next does not).
